DESCRIPTION:Join architect-historian Steve Wiser\, FAIA\, and Farmington docent David Green as they show how Louisville helped shape the nation. Three U.S. Presidents and three Supreme Court Justices had strategic interactions with Louisville that resulted in significant physical and cultural changes for our nation. While these events resulted in major transformations of the United States\, few in Louisville\, and fewer still in the country\, realize how these Louisville connections led to America’s growth and evolution. \nThe talk is presented as part of our Afternoon Lecture Series\, which takes place on the first Wednesday of the month. This talk opens our 2026 series and will take place on Wednesday\, February 4. Doors will open at 12:50 PM for desserts and beverages; lectures begin at 1:15. \nTickets are $6 for members or $8 for non-members\, and can be purchased online or at the desk.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday\, February 8\, 2026\, in the Audubon Room at Locust Grove to kick off the 2026 edition of the Emilie Smith Strong Chamber Music Series. \nPianist Stephanie Nilles\, violinist Kor’ee Jackson\, and bassist Kaleb Collins of the Louisville Academy of Music present Mostly Mingus\, a concert featuring music by Charles Mingus\, a pivotal figure in the development of post-bop jazz in the 1950s & ’60s. This concert will showcase some of Mingus’s seminal works\, alongside pieces by other American jazz legends\, in honor of African American Heritage Month.  \nThe concert will begin at 3 PM. Tickets are $30 each for the general public\, and $25 each for Locust Grove Members.
