Music Under the Pavilion with Fred Keams (Navajo [Dine])
Event Details
Mr. Keams will demonstrate the sounds and melodies of traditional Navajo flute music under the breathtaking Locust Grove Pavilion. Through Mr. Keams’ expert playing, you will learn about the tradition, skill, and power of Indigenous music.
Admission: $15/Adults; $5/children; free to children under 3.
Schedule: Doors open at 6:00 p.m. | Performance begins at 6:30 p.m.
Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase.

About Fred Keams
Fred Keams grew up in Navajo, New Mexico, and is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation. He continues the Navajo musical traditions by crafting and playing authentic traditional flutes by hand. He named his business Yellowknife Flutes after the nickname given to him by a friend and co-worker in Fort Defiance, Arizona. He organizes the Native Flute Gathering, which is held every May in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
