Historic Locust Grove Celebrates Fourth of July With A Naturalization Ceremony
Louisville, KY — Historic Locust Grove is delighted to invite the community to a special Fourth of July celebration and Naturalization Ceremony on Tuesday, July 4, 2024.
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. (Naturalization Ceremony at 12PM)
Location: Historic Locust Grove, located at 561 Blankenbaker Lane, Louisville, KY 40207
The day’s highlight will be the Naturalization Ceremony, where we will welcome 40 new citizens from 18 countries into our community. This moving ceremony will take place at 12:00 PM and feature inspiring speeches, music by the Brass Band of Louisville Quintet, and a heartfelt oath of allegiance. Join us as we celebrate these new Americans and reflect on the values of citizenship, freedom, and civic engagement that our nation holds dear.

In addition to the Naturalization Ceremony, festivities will include:
Interactive Civic Engagement Activities: Engage in lively discussions and hands-on activities
emphasizing community involvement and civic responsibility.
Immigration Stories: Explore exhibits and stories highlighting the diverse journeys of immigrants
and their contributions to our country.
Family-Friendly Activities: Enjoy various fun, educational activities for children and families,
including games and crafts.
Community Partners: Locust Grove is dedicated to partnering with organizations that actively
engage with the community. This year, we are collaborating with StageOne Storytellers, Kentucky
Refugee Ministries, and many other outstanding organizations.
Food and Refreshments: Savor delicious food and drinks available for purchase from local
vendors.
Cultural Pass: This event is part of Locust Grove’s Cultural Pass offering through Fund for the Arts,
making it accessible to a broad audience of families.
This event offers a beautiful opportunity to honor our nation’s history, celebrate the diversity that makes our country strong, and engage with the community meaningfully. “Our Fourth of July celebration and Naturalization Ceremony honor the story of immigration and citizenship in America,” said Carol Ely, President/CEO at Historic Locust Grove. “William Croghan, the original owner of Locust Grove, immigrated from Ireland before the American Revolutionary War.
