President Andrew Jackson

While touring the country with James Monroe in 1819, they stopped for two nights at Locust Grove. Jackson later returned in 1825 with his wife.

The first frontier President was last to have lived through the revolution. A self-taught Tennessee lawyer, Jackson became a hero in the War of 1812 in the battle of New Orleans.
